This is the program outline of the Three Creeks' Face Your Fear Factor Program held in July 2007:
Welcome, explanation (play nice, no bullying if someone doesn't want to do a challenge, etc.), form teams of 5, hand out score sheets.
Gourmet Grossout: (2 tables with disposable tarp underneath) Meeting Room
Blenders, dixie cups, spoons, barf buckets, can openers, ingredients such as brussel sprouts, Spam, sauerkraut, cottage cheese, yoghurt, pudding, V8, orange juice, oysters, cookies, etc. etc.
Teams will be paired. Each team will create a recipe using 5 ingredients in a blender. (At least 1 ingredient must be a liquid for blending)
Rival team will get 20 points per person who finishes the cup. (10 points will be taken away for vomit.) And vomit they will...
Pooper-Scooper Relay Race (main courtyard)
Aluminum pans (turkey size), kitty litter (clumping kind), vinegar, tootsie rolls, plastic spoons, garbage pails, stopwatches. Pour kitty litter in pan. Soak tootsie rolls for a bit so they are nice and gooey. Roll them in the kitty litter and sprinkle vinegar to facilitate "clumping." Don't tell that they are only Tootsie Rolls!
Teams will be timed on how quickly each player can remove 1 "item" from the "litter boxes" with plastic spoons held in their mouths, dumping them into the garbage pail. Fastest team receives 10 points.
Creepy-Crawly Treasure Hunt (main courtyard) 1 table
Plastic containers (use flat pans for worms - much grosser!), worms (about 3 dozen), crickets (from pet story), plastic gold coins
Each person retrieves a coin from inside each container of bugs and worms. 15 Points for each coin.
Ultimate Karaoke Smackdown (magazine area)
Karaoke machine, hats, costumes, pre-school cds.
Members of each team are 'dressed' to embarrassment by members of rival teams. Short song is chosen by rival team. Points awarded by adult judges for flair, musical style, and showmanship. 3 points- great, 2 points- good, 1 point for trying
Vomitorium (meeting room)
Flavored Crickettes, barf buckets. Crickettes from InsectCandy.com
25 Points given to each person who eats a crickette and keeps it down.
Dumpster Dive: (small courtyard)
Tarp, garbage pail full of organic garbage/compost (add some soil if necessary), letters, gloves for adults,
stopwatches.
Each team tries to find as many letters as they can hidden in the garbage to spell out "I love the library". Garbage must remain in the pail. Anything coming out must be put back by players. (2 min time-limit)
2 Points for each letter found
We had 35 teens attend. We gave out books (horror stories) to the winning team. Loads of fun!
